After the results of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, Plurals Party President Pushpam Priya Chaudhary has alleged irregularities in EVMs in Darbhanga Assembly seat. He has written a detailed post on the social media platform ‘X’ claiming that the button number of the EVM was changed ‘from above’ so that his votes could be directly transferred to the BJP candidate.
Referring to the entire process in her post, Pushpam Priya wrote, “After nomination in Darbhanga, we were told at the local level that in the EVM, Grand Alliance’s Umesh Sahni would have button number 6, mine (Pushpam Priya) would be 7 and Jansuraj’s RK Mishra would have button number 8. But within 24 hours, it was changed ‘from above’ to 5, 6, 7.”
After nomination in Darbhanga, we were told at the local level that the EVM will have button number 6 of Umesh Sahni of Grand Alliance, number 7 of me i.e. Pushpam Priya and number 8 of RK Mishra of Jansuraj. ‘Technical error in vote transfer’
He alleged that the reshuffle was part of a well-planned conspiracy in which a technical mistake occurred. He claimed, “It was probably decided in the machine that the votes of number 6 were to be transferred to Sanjay Saraogi (BJP) at number 2. But keeping the Grand Alliance at number 6 would have exposed the situation. This was their first technical mistake in a hurry.”
‘The results are politically and statistically impossible’
Pushpam Priya Choudhary has described the votes polled in her home town Darbhanga as “both politically and statistically impossible”. He questioned how it was possible that he got “less votes than even small independents in his hometown Darbhanga with thousands of relatives”? He further alleged that “the BJP candidate getting record votes at the booth having Muslim voters” also points towards this irregularity.
‘BJP agents were also shocked’
Choudhary even claimed that during the counting of votes, even the BJP candidate’s own counting agents were shocked by the results as to how votes were coming from a place where no votes had ever come.
He wrote a warning at the end of his post, “But destiny has decided this time that they have to be exposed. This time they have made so many mistakes and I have so much evidence at every booth that it is certain that they will be exposed.” These serious allegations of Pushpam Priya have started a new debate in political circles.
