This case pertains to two members of the mosque’s arrangement committee stopping ASI officials from entering the main dome and behaving in an objectionable manner.
According to police sources, ASI Superintending Archaeologist Vinod Singh Rawat said that his team had gone to the mosque under Meerut Circle on October 8 to inspect the conservation work. During the inspection, mosque employees Hafiz and Mohammad Kashif Khan stopped the ASI team from going inside the dome.

Conservation and inspection work should be completed without any hindrance – ASI
Local people said that Shahi Jama Masjid is a historical place of Sambhal and conservation work here is necessary to be done on time. At the same time, the mosque staff have denied the allegations and said that their intention was not to insult anyone. ASI officials also said that the conservation and inspection work should be completed without any hindrance.
According to experts, preservation of historical heritage is important not only for the local administration but also for the central government. In such cases, it is important to allow government teams to work without any hindrance, so that the historical structures can be preserved and protected from future damage.
