The practice of trading players in the Indian Premier League is not new. Shikhar Dhawan, Ashish Nehra, Zaheer Khan and Robin Uthappa were the first players to be traded in the 2009 season. Now with the arrival of 2025, the topic of trading players has become more popular and discussed. On November 15, all 10 teams had released their respective retention lists for IPL 2026. But even before the retention, the team of many players had changed.

Changed team of 9 players

Ravindra Jadeja (Chennai to Rajasthan)- Ravindra Jadeja has left Chennai Super Kings and joined Rajasthan Royals. Jadeja was getting a salary of Rs 18 crore in CSK, but in Rajasthan team he will get a salary of Rs 14 crore. Jadeja, Sanju Samson have gone to Rajasthan team due to trade deal.

Sam Curran (Chennai to Rajasthan)- Sam Curran was also a part of the trade deal with Sanju Samson. Along with Jadeja, Sam Curran will also be seen leaving Chennai Super Kings and playing in Rajasthan Royals team in IPL 2026. He will get a salary of Rs 2.4 crore.

Sanju Samson (Rajasthan to Chennai)- Wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson has been traded from Rajasthan Royals to Chennai Super Kings. Rajasthan team had demanded Jadeja and Curran in exchange of Samson. Samson will get Rs 18 crore in CSK team.

Mohammed Shami (Hyderabad to Lucknow)- Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami has left Sunrisers Hyderabad and moved to Lucknow Super Giants. Like last season, he will also get a salary of Rs 10 crore from LSG. Shami has won the Purple Cap for Gujarat Titans team in 2023.

Arjun Tendulkar (Mumbai to Lucknow)- Arjun Tendulkar has moved to Lucknow Super Giants after staying in Mumbai Indians for five years. In these 5 years, Arjun could play only 3 matches for MI. He will get a salary of Rs 30 lakh from LSG.

Nitish Rana (Rajasthan to Delhi)- After playing just one season for Rajasthan Royals, Nitish Rana will play for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026. Rana has experience of more than 100 IPL matches and Delhi has traded him for his current salary i.e. Rs 4.2 crore.

Shardul Thakur (Lucknow to Mumbai)- Bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur has been traded by Mumbai Indians to LSG. MI has traded Thakur through a cash deal and he will get a salary of Rs 2 crore next season.

Donovan Ferreira (Delhi to Rajasthan)- The only foreign player to be traded for IPL 2026 is Donovan Ferreira. He has been traded by Rajasthan Royals to Delhi Capitals. His salary has increased by Rs 25 lakh, due to which Rajasthan Royals will now pay him Rs 1 crore.

Mayank Markande (Kolkata to Mumbai)- Leg spin bowler Mayank Markande has returned to Mumbai Indians, MI has traded him to KKR. Markande has been a part of IPL since 2018 and has taken 37 wickets so far. He will get a salary of Rs 30 lakh from Mumbai Indians.
