Indian Air Force’s ALH helicopter faced technical fault, made emergency landing in a field in Bareilly.


Indian Air Force’s ALH helicopter made emergency landing due to technical fault during flight in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. There is no information about any kind of damage due to this. The rescue team has been sent to the spot. Such was the situation that the ALH helicopter had to land in the field. Seeing the helicopter landing, the villagers gathered at the spot.

Approval for operation was received again this year

Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv got approval to operate again in May 2025 after a pause of four months. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has made this helicopter. An ALH helicopter of the Indian Coast Guard crashed on 5 January 2025, after which all Dhruv helicopters were grounded.

ALH helicopter suitable for multiple missions

After this accident, questions were raised on the technical reliability of the ALH helicopter, after which the Defense Ministry formed a Defect Investigation Committee. After this, HAL and the armed forces together analyzed the technical problems and implemented several security measures. The ALH Dhruv helicopter has been serving in the Indian Armed Forces since 2002. It is a multi-role helicopter, suitable for different missions. HAL developed its design in the 1990s.

A Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force had to make an emergency landing at Dehradun airport last week due to a technical fault. During the flight, oil started leaking from one of the engines of the plane, due to which the pilot took this step. After landing at the airport, the plane was parked safely in front of the VIP guest house, some distance away from the terminal.
