The swearing-in ceremony of the new government in Bihar is likely to be held in Patna on November 20. Along with PM Modi, many top leaders and Union ministers of NDA can participate in this. Preparations are being made for the swearing-in ceremony at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will submit his resignation as the head of the outgoing government to the Governor on November 19.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has emerged as the largest party in the Bihar Assembly elections (2025), will also select the leader of the legislature party in the proposed meeting of its newly elected MLAs on Wednesday. In this regard, information has been sent by the party to all 89 newly elected MLAs and 21 Legislative Council members.
The historic Gandhi Maidan has been closed for the general public till November 20 for the swearing-in ceremony. According to Patna district administration, entry of common people has been restricted and extensive security arrangements have been made. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh can also be present in this ceremony.
5-6 new faces from BJP-JDU can be seen in the cabinet
On the other hand, the efforts to get a place in the cabinet have intensified among the NDA constituents in the new government. According to sources, five to six new faces from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal United (JD-U) are likely to be included in the cabinet. JD(U) state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha, elected from Mehnar seat, is also likely to get a place in the new team of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Sources said JD(U) may retain most of its ministers, while BJP may induct some new faces. Apart from JD(U) and BJP, Union Minister Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLMO) will also be part of the new government.
According to sources, LJP (Ram Vilas) is likely to get three ministerial posts, while HAM and RLMO are likely to get one ministerial post each. A maximum of 16 ministers from BJP and 14 from JD(U) can take oath along with the Chief Minister on November 20.
