India has secured a place in the semi-finals of the Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament by defeating Oman by 6 wickets. India has now become the second country after Pakistan to enter the semi-finals from Group B. It was a do or die match for both the teams, in which Oman team scored 135 runs while playing first. Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s bat did not work, but Harsh Dubey’s unbeaten half-century of 53 runs ensured Team India’s place in the semi-finals.
In the match, the Indian team won the toss and chose to bowl first. For Oman, Wasim Ali played an unbeaten inning of 54 runs, while Hammad Mirza also contributed 32 runs. Apart from him, no other batsman from Oman could play a big innings. Indian bowlers allowed Oman to score only 42 runs in the last 45 balls and also took five wickets.
In this match, Indian opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s bat did not work, who was out after scoring only 12 runs. His opening partner Priyansh Arya also departed after scoring 10 runs. Naman Dheer once again got the start, but he could not extend his innings beyond 30 runs.
Harsh Dubey ensured the victory of the Indian team by scoring unbeaten 53 runs. Nehal Wadhera’s inning of 23 runs was also worthy of praise, who along with Dubey stood firmly at the other end. Harsh Dubey also hit 7 fours and one six in his innings of 53 runs. Captain Jitesh Sharma hit the winning shot for the Indian team by hitting a four.
Earlier, in bowling, Suyyash Sharma had put a brake on the scoreboard of Oman. He took two wickets giving only 12 runs in 4 overs. Apart from him, Gurjapneet Singh was also successful in taking 2 wickets.
