Those four MLAs whose names had come up in the case of alleged attempt to topple the Nitish Kumar government in February 2024 were absent in the session of Bihar Assembly on Monday. A complaint regarding this entire matter was lodged by JDU MLA Sudhanshu Shekhar at the Kotwali police station in Patna.

All of them belong to different political parties and were in the news since the complaint of February 2024. After the complaint was registered in this case, the police started questioning many things like phone call records, suspicious meetings and the role of middlemen.

The performance of the four MLAs in the recent elections was also in the headlines. Bima Bharti had contested from Rupauli seat on RJD ticket, but was defeated by JDU’s Kaladhar Prasad Mandal by 73,572 votes. Dr. Sanjeev was the RJD candidate from Parbatta and lost by more than 34,000 votes. Mishrilal Yadav, who was earlier a BJP MLA and later joined RJD, did not get the ticket this time. Dilip Rai also could not reach the assembly this time.
Absence again raised questions
The simultaneous absence of these four leaders in the assembly session has raised questions on both the ruling and opposition sides. There is a discussion in political circles whether these MLAs are away from the House because the alleged conspiracy of February 2024 has come up for discussion again or it is just a coincidence.
