After the change of power in Bihar, Nitish Kumar has once again taken oath as the Chief Minister. This is his 10th term, but this time the form of the government is not at all the same as before. While JDU was a big ally of NDA for years, now the picture has reversed. BJP has emerged as the most influential party in this new equation.
BJP has got fourteen ministerial posts in the new cabinet, while JDU is limited to only 8. Political analysts say that this situation clearly shows that BJP put forward its conditions strongly in government formation and Nitish Kumar had to accept them.
BJP’s hold on two Deputy CMs and Speaker
BJP has got two big achievements in the new NDA government, two Deputy Chief Ministers and the post of Assembly Speaker. Earlier it was being said that Nitish Kumar was not in favor of making two Deputy Chief Ministers, but BJP maintained its strategy and succeeded in making both Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha as Deputy CMs. The post of Speaker is also in BJP’s account, which will further strengthen the party’s hold on the Assembly.
BJP made minister list on the basis of social equation
BJP kept social balance at the center while selecting its ministers. Especially the Luvkush class and the advanced community were given a prominent role. For this reason, Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha got top posts. Along with this, the leaders who have got a place in the cabinet include Mangal Pandey, Nitin Nabin, Sanjay Singh Tiger, Arun Shankar Prasad, Surendra Mehta, Rama Nishad, Lakhendra Paswan, Narayan Prasad, Shreyasi Singh and Pramod Kumar Chandravanshi. Apart from this, Ramkripal Yadav and Dilip Jaiswal have also been given place in the cabinet.
Nitish Mishra was not seen in the cabinet this time
Former Industry Minister Nitish Mishra did not get a ministerial post this time, even though his victory margin was more than in 2020 and it was believed that he would become a minister again. There was a lot of discussion in political circles due to his name not being in the final list.
Colleagues also got shares, but sons got the chair
NDA’s allies have also been given a place in the new cabinet. Chirag Paswan’s LJP (R) has got two ministerial posts. Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hum Party has been given one place and RLM’s Upendra Kushwaha has also been given a ministerial post. The interesting thing is that both Manjhi and Kushwaha have given place to their sons in the cabinet. Santosh Suman, son of Jitan Ram Manjhi and Deepak Prakash, son of Upendra Kushwaha have become ministers this time.
