Devdutt Padikkal and Karun Nair included in Karnataka team for Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament, matches from November 26


Devdutt Padikkal and Karun Nair were included in Karnataka’s squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament on Thursday. Karnataka has been placed in Elite Group D whose matches will be held in Ahmedabad from 26th November.

Padikkal is currently part of the Indian team for the series against South Africa and if the Indian team management does not release him, he will not be able to play the first few matches.

Nair looked in good form in the first phase of Ranji Trophy and scored 602 runs at an average of 100.33 with the help of two centuries in five matches. The command of Karnataka has been handed over to Mayank Agarwal. The team will start its campaign against Uttarakhand and then face Jharkhand.

Other teams of Group D are Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Saurashtra and Tripura.

The team is as follows: Mayank Agarwal (captain), McNeil Noronha, KL Sreejith, Karun Nair, R Smaran, Abhinav Manohar, Shreyas Gopal, Shikhar Shetty, Vaisakh Vijayakumar, Vidwath Kawerappa, Vidyadhar Patil, Srivatsa Acharya, Shubhang Hegde, Praveen Dubey, BR Sharath and Devdutt Padikkal.
