This cricketer got into trouble, ICC suddenly suspended him; Know for which mistake the punishment was given


India and Sri Lanka will jointly host the T20 World Cup 2026 next year, in which the US cricket team will also participate. Everything is not going well for the American team in recent times, meanwhile team player Akhilesh Reddy has been suspended by ICC. The ICC has banned the 25-year-old off-spinner from playing with immediate effect.

The ICC said in its statement, “The International Cricket Council, on behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board, has charged American cricketer Akhilesh Reddy with three violations of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. These charges are related to the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 2025 tournament in the United Arab Emirates. As the Designated Anti-Corruption Official (DACO) for the event, the ICC has made these charges on behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board.”

These are the allegations

Article 2.1.1- Attempt to fix, fabricate, or unfairly influence the outcome, progress, conduct, or any other aspect of matches at the Abu Dhabi T10 2025, or be part of any agreement or attempt to influence unfairly.

Article 2.1.4- Persuade, incite, entice, instruct, coax, encourage, or knowingly assist (or attempt to do so) another player to breach Article 2.1.1 during one or more matches at the Abu Dhabi T10 2025.

Article 2.4.7- Hindering a DACO investigation by deleting data and messages from a mobile device that may be relevant to the investigation.

The ICC further said in its statement, “Akhilesh Reddy has been immediately suspended from all cricket and has 14 days from 21 November 2025 to respond to the allegations. The ICC will not make any further comment until the disciplinary process is over.”

Akhilesh Reddy has played 4 international matches

25-year-old Akhilesh Reddy has played 4 International T20 matches for the US cricket team, although he could not leave much of an impact in them. Akhilesh has taken only 1 wicket in 4 T20 matches.
