Uric Acid Symptoms: Uric acid is a natural element produced in our body. When the body digests certain foods, especially foods like meat, fish or pulses that contain an element called purine, uric acid is produced. Normally it reaches the kidneys through blood and then goes out with urine. But when its quantity starts increasing, it can accumulate in the blood and cause many problems, such as joint pain, arthritis, kidney stones or heart problems in the future.

Many times uric acid can increase not only due to wrong eating habits but also due to other reasons. Such as drinking less water, being overweight, drinking alcohol or continuous use of some medicines. Even in some people this problem is related to family also. Let us know the reasons due to which this is happening.

1. Food high in purines

Foods like red meat, liver, fish, and seafood are rich in purines. By eating these repeatedly, more uric acid starts forming in the body. Therefore, eat these things in limited quantity and also take plenty of fruits and vegetables so that the body can reduce its effect.

2. Sweet drinks and junk food

Fructose present in soda, cold drinks, packed juices or sweet snacks increases uric acid. Instead of such drinks, take coconut water, lemon water or herbal tea, these cool the body and control uric acid.

3. Alcohol consumption

Beer and hard drinks greatly increase the level of uric acid. Along with alcohol, they also contain purine, which has double effect on the body. If you are suffering from uric acid or arthritis, then it is best to stay away from alcohol.

4. Lack of water

Due to drinking less water, the kidneys are unable to remove uric acid and it starts accumulating in the blood. Therefore, drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water a day.

5. Overweight and less activity

In obesity, the body produces more uric acid and the kidneys are not able to remove it properly. If you lose weight little by little, uric acid starts reducing automatically. Walking a little every day and doing light exercise is very beneficial.

6. Effect of medicines

Some medicines for blood pressure or heart can increase uric acid. If you are taking any medicine for a long time, then get your uric acid level checked once by the doctor.

7. Fasting or crash diet

Due to very strict diet or long fasting, the body takes energy by breaking down muscles, due to which uric acid increases. Therefore, to lose weight, adopt a gradual and balanced diet.

8. Family reasons

Many times this problem is genetic, that is, if someone in the family has it, you can also have it. Therefore, if someone in your house is suffering from arthritis or uric acid problem, then pay attention to your diet and water intake and get tested from time to time.

What to do?

Listen to your body. If you feel pain, swelling or stiffness in the joints, do not ignore it. Drink more water, eat healthy food and consult a doctor if necessary. Uric acid can be easily controlled with proper eating habits and a little awareness.
