The second and final match of the two-match Test series is being played between India and South Africa in Guwahati. In the first innings, the visiting team has scored a huge score of 489 runs. Meanwhile, in a special conversation with ABP Live, former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has made a big claim. He has said in an interview given to ABP that if the Indian team loses the Guwahati Test, then Gautam Gambhir will no longer be the head coach of the Indian cricket team in the red ball format i.e. Test cricket.

Regarding the pitch, Basit Ali said in a conversation with ABP, “You lost three Tests to New Zealand by first making a spin track. The pitch should be made in such a way that the test match is decided in four days. This is wrong. Earlier such pitches were not made in India. Earlier the ball break was on the fourth and fifth day, but now the ball starts breaking from the first hour itself. Making such a pitch shows that Gautam Gambhir is in a hurry to play the final of the World Test Championship. Toss is very important on such pitches. Batting in the fourth innings on such pitches is not easy, this is what happened in the first Test match.

Basit Ali advised Yashasvi Jaiswal to bat like Travis Head. He said that in the Guwahati Test, Jaiswal should bat like Head did in Perth. Only then will Team India make a comeback in this test and India will level the series.

Washington Sundar could not take wickets in the first innings. Jadeja got 2 wickets, but he did not look very effective. Regarding these two, Basit Ali said, “Jadeja will bowl well on that pitch and take wickets where the ball breaks. Where the ball breaks less, the spinner who keeps the ball in the air is successful, like Kuldeep Yadav. According to me, when South Africa plays the second innings, Jadeja’s role will impact you. Sundar has the container there. When Sundar goes to play the batsman shot, only then will he get the wicket.”

Basit Ali further says, “If Gautam Gambhir does not win this second Test match, then he will no longer be the coach in Test cricket. The way things are being said, it is clear that if Gautam loses the Guwahati Test, he will no longer be the coach in red ball cricket.”
