Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the martyrdom day program of Guru Teg Bahadur in Kurukshetra, Haryana on Tuesday (November 25, 2025). He said that Guru Tegh Bahadur protected the religion by giving his life. Through this program he has given a strong message to Pakistan regarding terrorism.
He said, ‘During the period of Mughal invaders, Kashmiri Hindus were being forcibly converted. Amidst this crisis, a group of victims sought help from Guru Sahib. Then Sri Guru Sahib had replied to those victims that all of you should clearly tell Aurangzeb that if Sri Guru Teg Bahadur accepts Islam, then we all will adopt Islam. After this, cruel Aurangzeb ordered Guru Sahib to be imprisoned. At the same time, Guru Sahib himself announced to go to Delhi.
Mughals used cruelty to remove Guru Sahib from his post – PM Modi
PM Modi said, ‘The Mughals had crossed all limits of cruelty towards the brave Sahibzadas. To oust Guru Sahib from his post, his three brothers were brutally murdered. He accepted being elected into the walls, but did not leave his duty. His resolve remained firm. He dedicated his head to religion. The Mughals also tried to insult his head, but Bhai Jeta ji took his head to Anandpur Saheb.
He said that Hardeep Singh Puri ji discussed with me about these heritages, got Jora Sahib scientifically tested so that it can be safe for the coming generations. He said, ‘Some time ago when the three original forms of Guru came to India from Afghanistan, it was a moment of pride for India. If we want to complete the work of Kartarpur Corridor, we have tried to complete it with full devotion, taking the glorious tradition of the Gurus as our ideal.

PM Modi said, ‘We want peace, but do not compromise on our security. Operation Sindoor has shown that the new India is neither afraid, nor stops nor succumbs to terrorism.
