Triple Century In Test & Double Hundred In ODIs: In the history of international cricket, many fearsome batsmen have come and gone, but there have been only a few batsmen who have registered their names in the pages of history. In international cricket, very few batsmen have been able to create fear among the bowlers, among which the names of former Indian opener Virender Sehwag and former West Indies opener Chris Gayle come on top. They scored a lot of runs with their batting in all three formats and both were successful in achieving a feat which no batsman has been able to do till date.
Virender Sehwag made a big record
India’s explosive former opening batsman Virender Sehwag is the first player in the history of international cricket to score two triple centuries in Tests and a double century in ODIs. Sehwag had created history by scoring the first triple century against Pakistan while the second triple century was scored in the match played with South Africa. In the year 2004, he played an inning of 309 runs in Multan. In the year 2008, he set a new record by scoring 319 runs against South Africa in Chennai. Sehwag has a total of 8,586 runs in his name in 104 Test matches, in which his average was 49.34 and the best score is 319 runs.
In One Day International, Sehwag scored a double century on 8 December 2011 in the match played against West Indies at Holkar Stadium, Indore. Sehwag had scored 219 runs in 149 balls with the help of 25 fours and 7 sixes. He scored a total of 8,273 runs in 251 ODI matches, in which he has 15 centuries and 38 half-centuries.
Chris Gayle also made a great record
In the history of international cricket, the second player in the world to score two triple centuries in Tests and one double century in ODIs is former West Indies star opener Chris Gayle. Gayle had made this great record against South Africa and Sri Lanka. Chris Gayle had scored 317 runs against South Africa in 2005, while in 2010 he had scored 333 runs against Sri Lanka in Galle.
Chris Gayle played an inning of 215 runs during the 2015 ODI World Cup against Zimbabwe in Canberra. He played this historic innings with the help of 10 fours and 16 sixes in 147 balls. Gayle scored a total of 10,480 runs in 301 ODI matches, in which he has 25 centuries and 54 half-centuries.
