The Samajwadi Party’s district office in Moradabad is built on Nazul land in Milak village cantonment in Civil Line area, which was taken on lease in 1994. In the revenue records, it is recorded in the name of Kothi No. 4. And SP district office remains here in about 953.71 square meters.
Even in September 2024, the Municipal Corporation had sought help from the police force from the district administration to vacate it, but due to the matter being related to the political party, the Municipal Corporation has not been able to take possession of it yet. However, in Municipal Corporation Moradabad, government properties worth crores of rupees have also been freed from other occupiers.
Letter sent to Yogi government
Now on the recommendation of the Municipal Corporation, Ansaney Kumar Singh, Commissioner of Moradabad Division, has sent a letter to the Principal Secretary Municipal Development Uttar Pradesh Government on March 28, 2025, repealing its lease and demanded to provide necessary guidelines to implue it for government purpose. Now if the allocation from the government is canceled and the land is approved to vested the land for government purpose, then the municipal corporation and the district administration will capture it, in such a situation, the office of Samajwadi Party can be closed.
Officials of the Moradabad Municipal Corporation say that this land is the government land of Nazul, which is a part of the village cantonment number 322 in the records of the Municipal Corporation and the revenue records of the District Officer, which is about 953.71 square meters. Some people have occupied it and have done illegal construction. That encroachment will be removed and the land will be vested in the government, so its permission has been sought from the government.
Earlier there was an attempt to vacate
In this case, District President of Moradabad Samajwadi Party, Jayveer Singh Yadav said that this land was given to open the party office on the lease of the government level in the government level of the then Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party National President Late Mulayam Singh Yadav, here for the last 31 years, SP’s district office has been operating, so far we have not received any notice regarding lease if any notice will be given.
Currently, this news has increased the concern of SP leaders in Moradabad, while Moradabad Municipal Corporation and District Administration are waiting for the reply from the Yogi government, if the Yogi government cancels its lease on the demand of the local administration, then the existence of the Samajwadi Party’s district office will be in danger.
Earlier, in September 2024, the Municipal Corporation Moradabad had tried to vacate the SP office, but then the SP MLAs and leaders had met the district officer and demanded not to vacate the office and the matter was calm but now the matter has reached Lucknow and now the instructions have reached Lucknow and the instructions from Lucknow will decide whether the lease of the SP office is canceled or not.
