National General Secretary of Samajwadi Party and former cabinet minister Mohammad Azam Khan has got a big relief in the controversial statement case registered in Azimnagar police station. MP-MLA Magistrate Court today on Friday (28 November) acquitted him in this case, this decision was being awaited in the entire state.
This case was related to the controversial remarks that Azam Khan had made in relation to the daughters of Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh in an interview given to a private channel. Expressing strong objection to this comment, Amar Singh had filed a case in Lucknow. Later, due to the comment being given in the Jauhar University campus, the case was transferred from Lucknow to Azimnagar police station in Rampur.
The entire process from deliberation to decision
After the investigation was completed by the police, the charge sheet was filed in the court. After this the hearing took place in the MP/MLA special court. The final arguments of both the sides were completed on Tuesday and the court had reserved the verdict on November 28. The court had also summoned Azam Khan to appear personally, after which the verdict was pronounced today.

On Friday, the court gave an important verdict and acquitted SP leader Azam Khan of the charges. There is a wave of happiness among SP workers and Azam supporters due to this decision. Today’s decision is being considered as a big relief for Azam Khan. Let us tell you that recently senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan and son Abdullah Azam Khan have been found guilty in two PAN card cases. While giving its verdict, the Rampur court had convicted Azam Khan and son Abdullah. At present both Azam Khan and his son are lodged in Rampur jail.
