A serious firing incident took place on Wednesday near the White House in the US capital Washington DC. Two members of the West Virginia National Guard were targeted in this attack and have been admitted to the hospital in critical condition. Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser and FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the incident and called it a targeted attack. The incident happened just a few blocks away from the White House, due to which security has been tightened in the entire area. Let us know how dangerous America’s National Guards are.

National Guards are the first shield of American security

The National Guards serve as a reserve force for the US states and federal government. They are deployed in both military and civilian crises. They play an important role in dealing with natural disasters like storms, earthquakes or epidemics. At the same time, they can also become active in situations like war or terrorist attacks.

The biggest strength of the National Guards is their multi-purpose training. They fight like soldiers, can use high-tech weapons and can also carry out elite commando missions if needed. The most dangerous units among these are Special Forces and Counter Terrorism Teams, which are experts in preventing terrorist attacks and crisis management.

Indian NSG- elite commando and anti-terrorism specialist

The Indian NSG, also known as Black Cat Commandos, is designed only for counter-terrorism, hostage rescue and high-risk operations. Their training is extremely rigorous and they have the most advanced weapons and equipment. NSG commandos are prepared for swift, precise and dangerous operations in special circumstances.

The NSG’s mission is solely focused on counter-terrorism and high-risk operations, while the National Guard’s mandate is more comprehensive, spanning social, military and disaster management.

Comparison of strength, training and weapons

  • Talking about training, NSG commandos focus on physical and mental endurance in training. The National Guards are also trained in combat and crisis management, but their training is multi-purpose based on state and federal requirements.
  • NSG commandos have high-end weapons, bomb disposal equipment and hostage rescue gear. The National Guards also receive modern weapons, but they are used in emergency military or civilian missions.
  • America’s National Guards number in millions and are spread all over America. NSG’s numbers are small, but they are highly trained for special operations.

What is the difference?

The work of the National Guards is diverse and extensive. Their deployment is possible in war, disaster and terrorism. In contrast, the mission of NSG is completely focused on counter-terrorism and high-risk operations.
So if we look at strength, training and operational expertise, NSG commandos are extremely dangerous and fast, but the National Guards are bigger and broader in numbers, resources and multi-purpose capability.
