Veteran actor Dharmendra died on 24 November in Mumbai. Recently, the Deol family organized a prayer meet for the late actor. The actor married Hema Malini for the second time in 1980, while he was already married to Prakash Kaur with whom he had four children.
In an old interview in 2022, Esha Deol was seen with her mother and veteran actress Hema Malini. During that time he had told how his father has been able to handle both his families well. Hema Malini has always remained separated from Dharmendra after marriage because she did not want to disturb his existing life.
Hema Malini had only asked for love from Dharmendra
Hema Malini had said in an interview to Rajdeep Sardesai, “There came a time when I had to tell him, ‘Now you marry me.’ You can’t walk like this. I knew there would be some trouble, but I don’t expect anything else from them. Just love. He is always with me, so what more do I need. I don’t want property, money or anything else from them. I just need a little love. That’s it.”
Dharmendra used to handle both the families beautifully
When Esha was asked about her father and her chemistry with her brothers Sunny and Bobby Deol, the actress had said, “We are very private as a family. I love my brothers. They have always been there for me and my father has always been there for me. What I admire about my father is that because he is such a big-hearted person, he is able to manage both sides beautifully. I give them credit for this.”
