It is being claimed that many big faces and white collar people are involved in this case, however, no such information has been shared by the police and STF yet. Meanwhile, former Jaunpur MP and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Dhananjay Singh has written an open letter.
Let us explain to you the whole story of how this Nexus and its dirty deeds were exposed…!
On November 27, an STF said that an accused has been arrested in the case of illegal storage and trading of Phensedyl cough syrup and other medicines containing codeine for using them as intoxicants. The accused was identified as Amit Singh Tata. Tata is a resident of Jaunpur in UP. According to the information provided by STF, Tata was arrested from Gomtinagar in Lucknow, the capital of UP.
In a press release, STF said – STF Uttar Pradesh was receiving information about illegal storage and trade of Phensedyl cough syrup and other medicines containing codeine for using them as intoxicants and sending them to Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, West Bengal and Bangladesh, for the prevention of which, by the Uttar Pradesh Government’s letter no. 201 P/Chha-Pu-3-2024 dated: 12 February 2024, Special Task Force and Food A joint investigation committee of the Safety and Cosmetics Department of Uttar Pradesh was formed. During the investigation, a huge quantity of illegal Phensedyl cough syrup was recovered and registered under FIR No. 182/2024 Section 420/467/468/471/34/120B/201 Bhadvi in Police Station Sushant Golf City, Commissionerate Lucknow.
Tata’s arrest, how is Shubham’s entry?
STF arrested Amit Singh Tata in this case. Then Shubham also entered it. According to STF, Tata took Shubham’s name during interrogation. STF said in its release that – During detailed interrogation of the above accused, he told that I was introduced to Shubham Jaiswal through Vikas Singh, a resident of village Narve, Azamgarh.
According to Tata, Vikas Singh had told that Shubham Jaiswal has a big business of Phensedyl cough syrup of Abbott Company in the name of Shelly Traders in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Phensedyl cough syrup containing codeine is used as an intoxicant, which is in great demand in West Bengal and Bangladesh. There is a lot of profit in its smuggling. If you invest some money in his business, you will get a lot of income, hence I agreed out of greed. Both of us talked to Shubham Jaiswal and his other partners through Vikas Singh and they formed a firm in Dhanbad in the name of Mera Devkripa Medical Agency in January 2024.
According to STF, Tata claimed that all the transactions of the firm were looked after by Shubham Jaiswal and his partners and his CA. I invested Rs 5 lakh in the business of Dhanbad. These people gave me approximately Rs 20-22 lakh. I have been to Dhanbad only 2-3 times. After this, on the insistence of these people, a firm was opened in my name by taking a drug license in Banaras. Opened a firm in my name in the name of Shree Medical. Shubham Jaiswal and his associates looked after all its transactions. The firm in Banaras said that Phensedyl was in business only for two-three months.
What else did Tata tell the STF?
Tata claimed that after that Abbott company stopped manufacturing Phensedyl cough syrup. Shubham had also given a profit of about Rs 8 lakh in the Banaras firm at different times. All the money was received in cash, which I used to deposit in the bank account of my wife Sakshi Singh. Shubham Jaiswal and his partners had bought cough syrup worth more than Rs 100 crore in collaboration with officials of Abbott Company.
Tata told STF that most of the syrup was smuggled and sold by making fake purchase-sale bills and e-way bills. Due to the arrest of Saurabh Tyagi, Vibhor Rana etc. of his gang by the police and STF team in Ranchi, Ghaziabad, Shubham Jaiswal has fled to Dubai with his family and partners Varun Singh, Gaurav Jaiswal. Shubham Jaiswal talks through FaceTime app. Apart from us, Shubham Jaiswal and his partners also create fake firms in the name of many other people, prepare fake bills and e-way bills of Phensedyl cough syrup and earn huge profits by showing fake purchase and sale and selling it to smugglers. Officials of Abbott Company are also involved in this.
An attempt to cover the conspiracy with the veil of politics?
It is being claimed that Shubham, whose name has been taken by Tata, was planning to take the help of politics to cover up his conspiracy. If sources are to be believed, he was trying his best to become a member of the Legislative Council in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. For this he was allegedly in contact with some big leader.
It is claimed that Shubham was making every effort to attract some alleged musclemen of Purvanchal. At some places, a plan was being made to gift a car to someone, while at another, a plan was being made to bring someone into the fold in a different way.
Tata also has political attraction!
Not only Shubham but Amit Singh Tata was also eager to enter politics. A photo of the accused has been shared on Facebook on which it is written – Lakshya 2026 Rampur Block. That means he was going to try his luck in the Panchayat elections proposed in the year 2026.
What about Dhananjay Singh’s clarification?
Amidst all this, former Jaunpur MP Dhananjay Singh has given clarification. He wrote on the social media site Facebook that Hello dear friends. I know that on the issue of cough syrup, some of my political opponents have misled the journalists and spread false information about me. In this regard, I would like to inform you that since the issue is related to Kashi/Varanasi, efforts are being made by the leaders of Congress and other parties to tarnish the image of the Prime Minister by making false allegations.
He wrote that this matter is being thoroughly investigated by the state government through various agencies so that the truth of the matter will be revealed to everyone. Since this matter is inter-state, the Honorable Prime Minister and Chief Minister are requested to get a comprehensive investigation done by CBI in this matter so that strict action can be taken against the culprits and absurd allegations and false news can be put to an end.
Referring to the PM and CM, he wrote that I also want to tell you all that I am writing a letter to the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister in this regard so that the faces of those spreading misleading news and tarnishing the image of the state government can be exposed.
