A surprising case came to light on Friday (28 November) in Aravali Vihar police station area of Alwar district. Constable Jaikishan Jatav, posted at Vijay Nagar police station, secretly got married for the second time while still having his first wife and two children, but this marriage became a problem for him. As soon as the first wife got wind of this, she went straight to the hotel with her children and family and called the police.
Constable hiding in the bathroom
The incident took place in a hotel in Samola area. When the first wife suddenly arrived there, the people present in the wedding preparations were shocked. When Jaikishan saw his wife and the police, he got nervous and hid in the hotel bathroom.
The wife alleged that Jaikishan has abandoned her for the last 8 years, neither pays her expenses nor takes care of the children. The court has also ordered him to fulfill the responsibilities of his wife and children, but he is not ready to accept it.
The victim’s wife says that Jaikishan has been living separately from her for a long time. He says that he has not taken care of me and the children for the last 8 years and does not even obey the court orders. Now he had come to marry again without divorce.
The victim told that she came to know that Jaikishan was marrying a girl from Raini police station area, after which she immediately reached the spot with her family.
Police reached the spot and stopped the marriage
As soon as the information was received, Aravali Vihar police station reached the hotel. Even before the wedding rituals could begin, the police intervened and stopped the entire process. The police took out the constable hiding in the bathroom and interrogated him inside the hotel.
According to the police officer, the constable is already married and marrying again without divorce is a legal offence. The matter is being investigated and the legal process will be taken forward. Departmental action is also possible, because being a policeman, his conduct is considered against the rules.
After the incident, there was an atmosphere of chaos in the hotel and all the preparations for the wedding came to naught. At present the police is investigating the entire matter and will decide further action based on the statement of the victim’s wife.
