Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh, which has been the site of Red Terror for 35 years, is now on the path of freedom from Naxalites. Under the pressure of continuous joint operation in MMC zone, Maoists are now moving towards surrender. In this sequence, Naxalite couple Dhanush alias Munna and his wife Roni alias Tule, active in Balaghat, surrendered in Khairagarh, Chhattisgarh. Interestingly, Dhanush used to handle technical work in the organization and also used to write content for Naxalite literature, press notes and Prabhat magazine. There was a reward of Rs 14 lakh on the bow and Rs 6 lakh on the bow. Both have been involved in many Naxalite incidents.
Dhanush’s role in technical responsibilities
This Naxalite couple, who surrendered after reaching Bakarkatta police station in Khairagarh, is only 25 years old. Both were active members of Maad Division and MMC Zone. Dhanush not only spoke fluent English, but his computer skills and typing speed were also very fast. This is the reason why he was entrusted with technical responsibilities in the organization. According to Additional SP of Anti-Naxal Operations, Adarshkant Shukla, Dhanush used to prepare Naxalite literature, press notes and content for magazine Prabhat. His wife Roni has been working with Tule Central Committee member Ramder.
Joint operation ongoing in MMC zone
Joint operation is going on rapidly in MMC zone i.e. Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. Inspector Ashish Sharma was martyred in the recent encounter, after which the pressure on Naxalites increased further.
