Delhi Police said that a semi-automatic pistol and 10 live cartridges have been recovered from terrorist Vikas. Apart from this, many social media chats made with Shehzad Bhatti and his network based abroad and videos related to the attack have also been recovered from the terrorists’ mobile phones.

Additional Commissioner of Special Cell of Delhi Police, Pramod Kushwaha told ABP News that the Eastern Range team of Special Cell was keeping a secret surveillance on terrorist Shahzad Bhatti present in Pakistan, who was planning terrorist activities in India. During surveillance, the police found out that Vikas Prajapati alias Betu, who was wanted in an arms smuggling case, was in touch with Bhatti and used to talk to him through social media platforms. His location was found in Gurdaspur, Punjab and then he was tracked while coming towards Delhi.

Kushwaha told that Bhatti often instructed him to keep his phone switched off. After a continuous search of 48 hours, based on the information received from the sources, the police team arrested Vikas from Indegarh, Datia, Madhya Pradesh.

Bhatti used to lure youth through social media

Kushwaha further said that the Pakistani handler of the module, Shahzad Bhatti and his associates had targeted Indian youth through social media. They were recruited by luring money and were selected through their social media profiles. Bhatti and his associates controlled the entire operation from a distance, such as conducting recce, delivery of money, logistics and informing about targets.

According to Delhi Police, Vikas Prajapati alias Betu is a resident of Datia, Madhya Pradesh and used to work as a laborer in the grain market of Indegarh. Inspired by gangster-turned-terrorist Shehzad Bhatti’s influence on social media, he contacted Bhatti through Instagram. Bhatti lured him with money and also involved him in illegal arms smuggling cases and then Bhatti sent Vikas to Gurdaspur, where he was provided a parcel. Bhatti told Vikas through video call how to open and activate the hand grenade. Vikas conducted recce of Gurdaspur and Amritsar police stations and sent videos and then Bhatti instructed him to hand over the grenade to Hargunpreet Singh and his associate.

Regarding the second arrested terrorist, Hargunpreet Singh alias Gurkaranpreet, the police said that Hargunpreet is a resident of Firozpur, Punjab and has studied only till class 12. He came in contact with Bhatti through a friend. Due to greed for money, he agreed to attack the Gurdaspur Police Station and on Tuesday last week (November 25, 2025), he and his associates threw a grenade outside the Gurdaspur Police Station.

Bhatti had sent Asif to carry out the grenade attack: Punjab-Delhi Police

Whereas about the third arrested terrorist Asif alias Arish, the police said that Asif is a resident of Machhmar village of Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, who has studied only till class 5. He connected with Shehzad Bhatti through Instagram about two and a half months ago. Bhatti instructed him to throw a grenade in Punjab and sent him a map and photo. Apart from this, Delhi Police said that raids are also going on to search for the remaining absconding persons in this case.
