The audience will see a big change in the new story of Avatar. Now the story will not be told from the eyes of Jake Sully. Rather, the story is narrated by his son Lo’ak, adding a new generation’s perspective to the Sully family’s journey. Director James Cameron and actor Sam Worthington explain why Lo’ak’s voice became the center of the story in ‘Avatar – Fire and Ash’.

According to James Cameron, this change is quite interesting. He says- Lo’ak is a very beautiful narrator. There is an intimacy in Britain Dalton’s voice. Cameron explains that Lo’ak gives audiences a perspective they have never seen before. He says- ‘I wanted to show Jake’s story from another direction. Sometimes you understand a character more than from the eyes of others. Lo’ak talks about his father, and this lets the audience learn a lot about Jake. Besides, it also appears that Lo’ak is similar to his father.

‘Lo’ak’s narration brings the audience closer to the story’
Sam Worthington, who plays Jake Sully, says that this decision is very right from an emotional and story point of view. He says- ‘If you have lost your son, your voice can be very emotional and one-sided. In such a situation, Lo’ak’s narration brings the audience closer to the story. Worthington explains that if Jake had told the story himself, there would have been more anger, sadness and restlessness in his voice.

He says- ‘James has designed it very intelligently. If Jake were to tell the story himself, he would just be angry, yelling, crying, and angry at the world. Therefore making Lo’ak the narrator is a very smart decision.
