After getting recognition in the border, four of Akshaye Khanna’s films got the status of back to back flops. The actor’s films ‘Mohabbat’, ‘Bhai Bhai’, ‘Doli Saja Ke Rakhna’ and ‘Kudrat’ flopped badly at the box office. But after this, ‘Aa Ab Laut Chalen’ was released in 1999 where his chemistry with Aishwarya Rai was very much liked. But then the series of flops continued.

In 2022, he made a comeback with a bang with Ajay Devgan’s film Drishyam 2. Akshay Khanna managed to win the hearts of the audience with his powerful dialogues, amazing body language and tremendous screen share and ‘Drishyam 2’ became the second blockbuster film of his career. Three years after the release of the film, i.e. in the beginning of 2025, he was seen in Vicky Kaushal’s film ‘Chhaava’.
This movie proved to be the turning point of his life. Akshay Khanna’s acting skills were highly praised for his intense role of Aurangzeb and he became famous in the role of villain. He played his character with so much enthusiasm that it became difficult for the audience to recognize him. Finally, Akshay Khanna got the popularity he deserves from ‘Chaava’.
