Pressure on the company increased due to new government rules
Due to the implementation of Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) by the government, IndiGo had to give rest to its pilots. There was already a shortage of staff in the company. Due to which the entire system collapsed. The company canceled many flights. Due to which this problem became bigger.
Indigo’s big network also became a cause of trouble
This time being the largest airline of the country proved to be costly for IndiGo. When one thing became weak in such a huge network, its impact started appearing on the entire operation. Thousands of crew members, several airports and more than 2,000 flights operating daily all came under pressure simultaneously. Due to which the situation became worse.
Airbus A320 warning changed the situation
The airline company received security alerts from the Airbus 320. Under which flights had to be canceled after 12 midnight. Due to which many flights were suddenly cancelled. Due to which the entire system malfunctioned and thousands of passengers were affected.
Indigo got some relief from DGCA’s decision
Amid growing controversy and pressure, DGCA took a big U-turn and withdrew the rule in which pilots were not allowed to exchange their week’s rest for leave. This change may help the airline company to stabilize operations.
