The second round of NEET PG 2025 counseling has started and the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has released the seat matrix for this round. This time a total of 32,080 seats are available for the candidates. This includes 17623 clean vacancies, 11837 virtual vacancies, seats which were held by the candidates in the first round and are open for upgrade and 2,620 newly added seats.
MCC has made it clear that in this round, the candidates who did not get a seat in the first round or who want to apply afresh for All India Quota (AIQ) seats, will have to apply online between December 5 and December 9.
Candidates should do choice filing
Candidates will have to make choice filing as per their preferences. The choice filling process will remain open till 11:55 pm on 9th December. After this, candidates can lock their filled preferences from 4 pm to 11:55 pm on the same day.
The results of this round will be declared on December 12. According to the data made available under MCC, a total of 26,889 candidates had secured seats in clinical and non-clinical courses in the first round. Among the top courses in the first round, MD General Medicine was the most popular option, followed by MD Radiodiagnosis and MD Obstetrics and Gynecology.
2,620 new seats in matrix in round two
Virtual Recruitment represents those seats which were allotted in the first round, but candidates wish to upgrade. The newly added 2,620 seats provide extra opportunities for those candidates who did not apply in the first round or did not get the seat as per their choice.
Overall, NEET PG 2025 Round 2 counseling is a must-see opportunity for all those candidates who want to get a seat in the college and course of their choice. Candidates are advised to complete their choice filing process as soon as possible and lock their seats on time to avoid any technical or other problems.
