Aditya Dhar directed Vicky Kaushal’s Uri: The Surgical Strike. After 6 years of this blockbuster film, now Aditya Dhar has made a comeback in direction with ‘Dhurandhar’. His film is based on a secret operation related to India’s intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RW).
Apart from Ranveer Singh, Akshay Khanna, R. A group of actors like Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun, Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal are in the lead roles. ‘Dhurandhar’ has done wonders on the opening weekend. This film is inches away from making Rs 100 crore. With this, this film has become the fourth highest grossing film on the opening weekend with a collection of Rs 99.50 crore. It has beaten the opening weekend collections of Housefull 5 (91.83 crore), Sikandar (86.44 crore), Syara (84.5 crore), Kantara Chapter 1 (75 crore), Raid 2 (73.83 crore), Sky Force (73.2 crore) and Sitare Zameen Par (57.3 crore).

‘Dhurandhar’ has become the 16th highest grossing film on its first Sunday by collecting Rs 39.50 crore. It has left behind all the films including Race 3, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, PK. Now the real test will take place on weekdays. It remains to be seen how this film does business on non-holidays.
