Pakistan on Sunday (December 7, 2025) met Indian Foreign Minister S. Strongly criticized Jaishankar’s statement in which he had said that the root of many of Pakistan’s problems is its army. Pakistan called this statement provocative, wrong and irresponsible. Jaishankar made this comment during a program organized in New Delhi.

What did Pakistan say?
Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said that Pakistan completely rejects and condemns Jaishankar’s remarks. He said that Pakistan is a responsible nation, and its army and other institutions are strong pillars of the country’s security. Andrabi also accused India of trying to defame Pakistan’s leadership and government institutions.

What did S Jaishankar say?
Jaishankar said at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit that the army in Pakistan supports terrorist groups and many problems arise from there. He also said that just as there are good and bad terrorists, there are good military leaders and some not so good. It is believed that he was referring to Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir.

Pakistan gave a hoot
Andrabi said that during the conflict in May, Pakistan’s army showed that it is capable of responding to any attack in an effective, disciplined and responsible manner. He described it as an example of Pakistan’s defense capability.

Pakistan suffered huge losses during Operation ‘Sindoor’
This controversy has come to light at a time when discussions are going on regarding India’s Operation Sindoor. This operation was started on 7 May. Its objective was to target the terror infrastructure in Pakistan and PoK. This action was taken in response to the Pahalgam attack, in which 26 civilians were killed. After this four-day campaign, on May 10, both countries agreed to stop military activities. According to Indian Air Force Chief AP Singh, at least a dozen Pakistani military aircraft were destroyed or damaged in the attack, including several F-16s.
