CAT 2026 Answer Key: The wait of lakhs of candidates appearing for CAT 2026 exam is about to end. Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode has announced that the window for filing objections on the provisional answer key will open from 12 noon today.
Candidates will be able to lodge objection on this till 10th December. For this they will have to login by visiting the official website iimcat.ac.in. Let us know how candidates can check the answer key and objection can be raised.
CAT exam was conducted this year on 30 November 2025. The exam was conducted in CBT mode at 339 examination centers set up in 170 cities across the country. A total of 2.58 lakh candidates took part in this management entrance test.
Why is it necessary to object to the answer key?
With the help of provisional answer key, candidates can compare their answers and if any error is found in any question, they can raise objection on it. IIM has clearly said that only the objections raised within the stipulated time will be considered. Therefore, candidates are advised to register their objections on time.
Along with this, IIM has also released the response sheets of all three slots – Slot 1, Slot 2 and Slot 3. With this, candidates will be able to know which answer they chose and whether it is right or wrong.
When will CAT 2026 result come?
The final answer key will be released only after examining all the objections lodged on the interim (provisional) answer key. It is expected that the result of CAT 2026 will be declared in the first week of January 2026. However, the official date of the result has not been released yet by IIM Kozhikode.
How is CAT scoring?
In CAT, you get 3 marks for the correct answer, while 1 mark is deducted for the wrong answer. There is no negative marking on non-MCQ questions. On the basis of this score, admission is available in MBA and PGDM programs in IIM and other top business schools across the country. How to object to the answer key?
To lodge objection on the answer key, the candidate has to follow just a few easy steps. They have to go to the website iimcat.ac.in, click on the login tab and login to their account by entering the registration number. After this, you can select the question on which you have objection and submit your objection.
