Banaras Hindu University i.e. BHU has made a big announcement for the recruitment of school teachers even before the new year. The university has released the recruitment notification 2025 for the posts of Principal, PGT, TGT and PRT. Under this recruitment, appointments will be made on a total of 55 posts and interested candidates can apply online till January 5, 2026. The hard copy of the application will have to be submitted by January 10, 2026.
This recruitment includes 3 posts of Principal, 9 posts of PGT, 36 posts of TGT and 7 posts of PRT. The maximum number of posts are for TGT, so this is a great opportunity for the candidates who are preparing to become teachers at the graduation level.
how much education
Talking about the application eligibility, for the post of Principal, the candidate must have at least 50% marks in Master’s degree, B.Ed degree and experience on the post of Principal, Vice-Principal or PGT in a government school. To become a PGT, the qualification required is Master’s degree in the relevant subject or MSc and B.Ed integrated with RCE.
For TGT, 50% marks in graduation in relevant subject, B.Ed and CTET pass is required. For Primary Teacher i.e. PRT, the candidate must have 50% marks in 12th, along with D.El.Ed, B.El.Ed or Diploma in Special Education and must have passed CTET.
age limit
The age limit has also been kept different according to the posts. The maximum age for the post of Principal has been fixed at 55 years, for PGT 40 years, for TGT 35 years and for PRT maximum 30 years. As per government rules, age relaxation will be given to SC, ST, OBC, disabled and ex-servicemen candidates.
How will the selection be done?
BHU has also decided the selection process in a phased manner. After receiving the applications, first of all the eligibility and documents of the candidates will be checked. If necessary, written examination can also be conducted, information about which will be given by the university later. After the written examination, the candidates will have to give a presentation and then there will be an interview.
Salary will be this much
The salary on Principal post has been fixed at Rs 78,800 Level 12, Rs 47,600 Level 8 for PGT, Rs 44,900 Level 7 for TGT and Rs 35,400 Level 6 for PRT.

Candidates must first register by visiting the official website of BHU, bhu.ac.in/rac. After this, you will have to login and fill the form and upload the necessary documents. UR, EWS and OBC candidates will have to deposit the application fee online. Candidates should send the printout of the form to the address of Registrar, Recruitment and Evaluation Cell, Holkar House, BHU, Varanasi – 221005.
