Madhya Pradesh Minister Pratima Bagri got angry when asked about the arrest of her brother in ganja smuggling. He scolded the journalists. The incident took place outside the Maharaja Chhatrasal Convention Center in Khajuraho, where the media asked questions about the arrest of his brother Anil Bagri.

Controversy increased due to anger over minister’s question
Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing Pratima Bagri had reached Khajuraho to participate in the program. As soon as she came out, as soon as the media questioned her brother’s arrest for smuggling 46 kg of ganja, she became furious and lashed out at the journalists in a harsh tone. He said, “Why do you guys talk about force?” And moved ahead from there without answering any other questions.
This reaction has further intensified the political stir as the opposition is continuously alleging that the minister is giving political protection to her family. A few days ago, his brother-in-law was also arrested in Banda in drug cases, due to which the controversy has deepened.
Constantly increasing allegations against the family and police action
Satna police had recently arrested the minister’s real brother Anil Bagri and his associate with 46 kg of ganja. Investigation revealed that he was supplying drugs along with his brother-in-law Shailendra Singh and both are now behind bars. Apart from this, Naraini police of Banda district of UP busted an inter-state smuggling gang on December 3 and arrested five people, including Shailendra Singh, husband of the minister’s younger sister.
The police took this action during night patrolling on the information of an informer. Due to continuous arrests, the case has become a topic of discussion in the entire district and this family is continuously getting embroiled in controversies. Congress says that relatives of ministers in the BJP government are being openly caught in illegal activities.
Pratima Bagri’s political journey and opposition attacks
Pratima Bagri is the MLA from Raigaon seat of Satna district and in the 2023 elections, she defeated Congress candidate Kalpana Verma by 36,060 votes. Before this, she had been active as General Secretary of BJP Mahila Morcha and Satna District Organization Minister. She got the reward of big victory in the form of a ministerial post and she is the youngest minister in the Mohan Yadav cabinet. But the continuous arrests of family members have raised questions on his image.
MP Congress posted on X that the minister’s relatives are being caught in smuggling and when the media asks questions, the minister gets angry. The opposition alleges that people associated with power in the BJP government are getting protection and this arrest is a reflection of the same black network. The political atmosphere has become more heated due to the matter gaining momentum.
