BCCI has released the list of shortlisted players for IPL Auction 2026. A total of 350 players will be in the auction, out of which 110 will be foreign players. IPL auction will be held in Abu Dhabi on 16 December. Let us tell you that the auction will be for only 1 day. Know which 5 foreign players can be sold the most expensive this time.
1. Jake Fraser-McGurk (Australia)
23-year-old Jake Fraser-McGurk of Australia has kept his base price at Rs 2 crore. He is an explosive batsman, who played for Delhi Capitals in the last 2 seasons. He has scored 385 runs in 15 IPL matches. What makes him special is his strike rate, Fraser-McGurk’s strike rate in the IPL has been close to 200 (199.48). He can become the foreign player to get a big amount in the IPL 2026 auction, many teams can place big bets on him.
2. Mathisha Pathirana (Sri Lanka)
Mathisha Pathirana of Sri Lanka is a brilliant bowler, who can do wonders in powerplay and death overs. Kolkata Knight Riders can bet big on him. Pathirana has been playing for Chennai Super Kings since 2022, for whom he has taken 47 wickets in 32 matches. In the last edition, Pathirana had taken 13 wickets in 12 matches.
If we look at the T20 record of Mathisha Pathirana, he has taken 132 wickets in 99 matches. Pathirana’s base price in the IPL 2026 auction is Rs 2 crore.
3. Matthew Short (Australia)
Australia’s top order batsman Matthew bats in an explosive style, on whom big bets can be made in the auction. Short’s base price is Rs 1.5 crore, but there may be a tough competition for him among many teams.
Short played his last IPL match in 2023, scoring only 117 runs in 6 matches for Punjab Kings that season. Although his only season was not good, he is now a dangerous T20 batsman who also contributes with the bowling. Short has scored 3431 runs in 140 T20 matches and taken 55 wickets.
4. Rachin Ravindra (New Zealand)
New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra played for Chennai Super Kings in the last two seasons, in which he scored 413 runs in 18 matches. Although CSK has released him, other teams will keep an eye on him as he makes important contributions in bowling along with batting. Rachin is a top order batsman, his base price in IPL auction is Rs 2 crore.
Talking about T20 statistics, Rachin Ravindra has scored 1922 runs in 116 matches at a strike rate of 139.78. He also has 70 wickets in his name in this format.
5. Cameron Green (Australia)
Cameron Green can become the most expensive player of IPL 2026 auction, many big teams have their eyes on him. Cameron’s base price is Rs 2 crore. He has played for Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL. In 2023, he scored 452 runs in 16 matches for Mumbai, the strike rate was 160. In 2024, he played 13 matches for RCB, scoring 225 runs and taking 10 wickets.
