Once again Pakistan has been publicly insulted in world cricket. Because of this, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is also angry with the International Cricket Council (ICC). Actually, PCB is unhappy with ICC over the absence of the picture of its captain Salman Ali Aga in the promotional poster released for the sale of tickets for next year’s T20 World Cup.
There is no photo of 5 captains in the promotional poster released for the sale of T20 World Cup tickets.
News agency PTI in its report quoted a reliable source of PCB as saying that the matter has been taken up with the ICC because the promotional poster has pictures of only five captains. This includes Suryakumar Yadav (India), Aiden Markram (South Africa), Mitchell Marsh (Australia), Dasun Shanaka (Sri Lanka) and Harry Brook (England).
The source further said in the report, “We had to face a similar problem during the Asia Cup a few months ago. At that time the broadcasters had started the promotional campaign without the picture of our captain.” He told that the situation changed only after PCB talked to the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
‘Even if Pakistan is not among the top five teams in the ICC T20 rankings, but…’
He said that this time too we are facing a similar situation, because ICC has not included the picture of our captain in the promotional poster released for the sale of tickets. Pakistan may not be among the top five teams in the ICC T20 rankings, but they have a rich history and are one of the most attention-grabbing teams in the World Cup. PCB is confident that ICC will definitely include the Pakistani captain in the promotional posters and campaigns.
