Now only a few days are left for the new year 2026 to start. On the occasion of New Year 2025, a large number of devotees had reached many temples across the country for darshan. From the Ram Temple in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh to the Jagannath Dham Temple in Puri, Orissa and some temples including Shri Sansthan Jeevottam Math, they were in the news for various reasons.
But do you know why all these temples were in the news? If not, then we will tell you the special reason behind it.

Ram Mandir
Since the establishment of Ram temple, the number of devotees coming to Ayodhya has increased significantly. Ram temple was in discussion about many things in the year 2025. The main reason for this was the flag hoisting ceremony.
Let us tell you that last month on 25 November 2025, on the auspicious occasion of Vivah Panchami, the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi had hoisted the flag of Ram Temple. During this time, a special kind of excitement and enthusiasm was seen among the devotees in Ram temple. Before the flag hoisting, special puja and religious rituals were performed in the Ram temple.
The date of November 25 was chosen for hoisting the flag of Ram temple because it was the fifth day of Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha month. It was on this date that the marriage of Lord Ram and Mother Sita took place, which is celebrated every year as Vivah Panchami.

Jagannath Rath Yatra
According to Hindu Vedic calendar, Jagannath Rath starts every year on the second day of Shukla Paksha of Ashadha month. This Rath Yatra starts from Jagannath Temple and goes to his aunt’s house and Gundicha Temple.
The chariots of Lord Jagannath, brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra also participate in this Rath Yatra. Devotees come from far and wide to participate in this Rath Yatra.
This year Jagannath Rath Yatra started on 27th June, Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra remains a topic of discussion. This religious procession takes place once a year, which purifies the environment.
