Uttar Pradesh is in the grip of dense fog and severe cold these days. Cold day conditions persist in many districts. The cold wave has now forced people to hide in their homes. The situation is such that visibility becomes extremely low due to fog in the morning and night. They are resorting to bonfire to escape the cold. Even today the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of dense fog in 16 districts of the state.
There has been extremely dense fog in the morning and evening in UP for the last one week, but according to the Meteorological Department, there will be some relief from it today. However, the weather will remain dry in both the eastern and western divisions of the state. During this period, there is a possibility of dense fog at some places.
Extreme cold continues till New Year
From December 25, Christmas, once again the tremendous effect of fog will be seen, and there has been a warning of extremely dense fog at many places. The period of fog and cold days will continue in the state till 27th December. Due to fog, visibility may be down to zero at many places. There will be some relief from sunlight during day time.
Yellow alert of dense fog in these districts
In UP today, yellow alert of dense fog has been given in Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Bahraich, Shravasti, Gonda, Basti, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Deoria, Gorakhpur and Sant Kabir Nagar. Balrampur was the coldest district of the state in the last 24 hours. The minimum temperature here went down to 4.5 degrees Celsius, which is 4 degrees less than normal.
People shivering from cold from Lucknow to Varanasi
From the capital Lucknow to Meerut, Agra and Prayagraj, the effect of cold is being felt significantly. A severe outbreak of cold and cold wave was seen in the religious city Varanasi. The maximum temperature of the district was recorded at 15 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was recorded at 8 degrees Celsius. There was also problem in the movement of vehicles due to fog. Etawah, Shahjahanpur, Bulandshahr and Kanpur, Ghaziabad, Bareilly were the coldest districts of the state.
