Arun Khetrapal was born in Pune, Maharashtra. He was a member of the ‘Poona Horse’ Regiment of the Indian Army. At the age of 21, he was an officer in the Indian Army, who gave a tough fight to Pakistan with his bravery. At the age of just 21, he had destroyed many Pakistani tanks.
Youngest Indian to receive Param Vir Chakra
For his sacrifice, Arun Khetrapal was awarded the Param Vir Chakra. He was the youngest Indian to do so, as he was awarded the highest military honor at the age of 21. In 1971, during the battle near Basantar River, Arun Khetarpal’s tank was destroyed by the Pakistani Army. However, he remained courageous and fought bravely, risking his life and destroying many Pakistani tanks.
