US President Donald Trump has once again given a big statement regarding India and Pakistan. During an event organized in Florida, Trump openly praised Pakistan’s Army Chief and Chief of Defense Force Field Marshal Asim Munir. According to Geo News report, he described Asim Munir as a highly respected general and said that his role was important in calming the growing tension in South Asia. On this occasion, US Defense Minister Pete Hegseth and Navy Secretary John Phelan were also present.

During the program, when Trump was asked about global conflicts, he said that a possible nuclear war between India and Pakistan was stopped due to America’s mediation. According to Trump, the Prime Minister of Pakistan personally told him that this effort could save the lives of crores of people. Trump said that the situation between the two countries was deteriorating very rapidly and the situation could go out of control.

Mention of fighter jet falling and war being averted

Donald Trump also said in his statement that during that time aerial skirmishes took place and many fighter planes were shot down. According to him, this conflict could take the form of a major war within some time. Trump also reiterated his claim that he has played a role in stopping many international wars so far, although the Russia-Ukraine conflict is still ongoing.

India-Pakistan tension increased after Operation Sindoor

This statement of Trump has come at a time when in the past also he has been taking credit by calling himself a mediator regarding the increased tension between India and Pakistan after Operation Sindoor. This operation was carried out by India in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, in which terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir were targeted.

Trade pressure claim and India’s response

Donald Trump has also said earlier that he used trade and tariff related pressure to force India and Pakistan to withdraw from the war, but the Indian government has clearly rejected these statements. India says that at that time there were talks between the military officers of both the countries to calm the situation. The Indian government has said that after the heavy loss, the DGMO of Pakistan contacted our DGMO, after which the military action was stopped with mutual consent.
