Before the Vijay Hazare Trophy, disappointing news has come out for the cricket fans in Bengaluru. Star batsman Virat Kohli will no longer be seen playing in the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Due to security reasons, the venue of all the Vijay Hazare Trophy matches to be held in Bengaluru has been changed. Now these matches will be played at BCCI Center of Excellence instead of M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
This decision has been taken on the instructions of the Karnataka government. An official of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has confirmed this. Due to the change, the match between Delhi and Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday will also be played at the new venue. Both Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant are expected to play in this match, but fans will not be able to see them in the stadium.
Entire plan changed due to security reasons
The Karnataka Home Ministry had informed KSCA about the security concerns on Tuesday morning. After this, the decision was taken immediately and informed to all the concerned teams. Not only the matches, but the pre-match training sessions of both the teams will now be held at the BCCI Center of Excellence.
The biggest thing is that spectators will not be allowed entry in any match of Vijay Hazare Trophy to be held in Bengaluru. This means that fans will not be able to go to the stadium and see Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant and other star players playing. This decision has been taken completely keeping the security arrangements in mind.
There was already tremendous excitement about Virat Kohli’s return to domestic cricket. After almost 15 years, he is playing in Vijay Hazare Trophy. In such a situation, the fans who were expecting his performance at Chinnaswamy Stadium have got a big shock.
