Vijay Hazare Trophy Live Streaming: India’s biggest domestic ODI tournament Vijay Hazare Trophy is in the headlines this time for a special reason. In this tournament starting from 24th December, almost all the big stars of Indian cricket will be seen on the field. Veteran players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be seen playing domestic ODI cricket after a long time, due to which the excitement of the fans is at its peak. The group stage matches will continue till January 8, while the knockout matches will be played from January 12. The final match will be held on January 18.
Many veterans will take part
This time, not only Virat and Rohit, but many star players like Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh and Abhishek Sharma will also be seen playing for their respective home teams. Actually, BCCI has implemented this rule for the players with central contracts that they will have to play at least two Vijay Hazare matches in domestic cricket. That is why so many big names have become a part of this tournament.
Rohit-Virat return to domestic cricket
Virat Kohli will be seen playing in Vijay Hazare Trophy after almost 15 years. Before the tournament, he trained hard with former batting coach Sanjay Bangar and has now reached Bengaluru with the Delhi team. Rohit Sharma will be seen playing for Mumbai team. He himself has confirmed that he will take the field in two matches against Sikkim and Uttarakhand in Jaipur on 24 and 26 December.
Tournament format and teams
A total of 38 teams are participating in the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Of these, 32 teams are in the elite division, which are divided into four groups. The top two teams from each group will play the quarter finals. After this, semi-final and final matches are to be held. There are six teams in the plate division, from where there is also a provision for promotion and demotion.
- Group A: Kerala, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Tripura.
- Group B: Vidarbha, Hyderabad, Bengal, Baroda, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir.
- Group C: Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Mumbai, Uttarakhand, Sikkim.
- Group D: Railways, Andhra, Haryana, Gujarat, Saurashtra, Delhi, Services, Odisha.
Where and when will the matches take place
Group stage matches will be played on different grounds in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Aloor, Jaipur and Rajkot. All matches will start at 9 am Indian time.
