All India Imam Organization Chief Dr. Imam Omar Ahmed Ilyasi has strongly condemned the murder of a Hindu youth in Bangladesh. He said that he wants to ask Bangladeshis which Islam they are adopting because Islam does not teach this, it is all about forgiving and saving. He has also appealed to the United Nations Human Rights Council to intervene in the attacks on Hindus and minorities in Bangladesh.
Speaking with news agency ANI, Imam Omar Ilyasi said that it is a very sad incident. Very regrettable. Humanity has been put to shame, this is a murder of humanity. He said that the way Hindus are being continuously attacked in Bangladesh is a very sad incident. Especially now, the brutality with which they murdered that child and the way they treated him by hanging him on a tree is very sad.
Imam Omar Ilyasi said, ‘I want to ask the Bangladeshis, those Bangladeshis whom India has always done a favor to. Those ungrateful Bangladeshis forgot that whether it was any infrastructure or financial help, India stood with them in every way. The way they are behaving is very regrettable.
He asked, ‘Where are those human rights organizations that raise their voice for humanity and human rights, why are they not speaking today? All Muslim and human rights organizations should come forward. The manner in which Hindus are being massacred with barbarity is a very sad thing. I want to appeal to the United Nations Human Rights Council to immediately intervene in Bangladesh.
Imam Omar Ilyasi asked the Bangladeshis that those living inside Bangladesh are going to follow Islam, I want to ask them which Islam they are following. What is the teaching of Islam that the way they are killing, does Islam allow it?
He said, ‘These are not the teachings of Islam. Islam is the name of saving. Islam is the name of forgiveness. The way it is happening inside Bangladesh today, there is an appeal to our country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah that they should intervene in this matter and the killings of Hindus and minorities and the brutality being done to them should be stopped immediately.
