The incident occurred on Tuesday, resulting in property damage and the death of the family’s pets. According to reports, the victims have been identified as Jayanti Sangha and Babu Shukusheel. The family was inside their house at the time of the incident. Eyewitnesses said that the family had to run away by cutting the fence to escape the flames, because all the doors were closed.

Police is busy identifying the accused. Cases have been registered against unknown people in these cases, but no one has been arrested so far. Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) S.M. Rahatul Islam and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ongching Marama took stock of the damage and assured help. The affected families have been given 25 kg rice, 5,000 taka cash and blankets.
7 year old girl burnt alive in house fire
Late night on 19 December, some miscreants locked a house from outside in Laxmipur Sadar, poured petrol on it and set it on fire. A 7-year-old girl died after being burnt alive in the fire, while three people were seriously burnt. According to the police, the incident took place at around 1 o’clock in the night. A 7 year old girl died on the spot due to the fire.
Deepu was murdered and burnt
On December 18, Hindu youth Dipu Chandra was beaten to death in Bhaluka near Dhaka. The attackers had accused him of blasphemy. Deepu used to work in a textile factory. It was claimed that Deepu had made comments on Facebook that hurt religious sentiments, but the investigation did not find evidence of any such comment. Whereas this murder was the result of a dispute over work in the factory.
