The year 2025 was great for Bollywood and Indian cinema. New films were trying to make their place, but re-releases of old classics and cult films kept the theaters buzzing. The audience’s emotional attachment to old films turned out to be so deep that many such films, which had flopped on their first release, became superhits this time.

My love I swear this on you

The biggest success of the year was Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hokane’s ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’. This tragic romantic drama, released in the year 2016, flopped at that time. The film, which failed by earning only around Rs 9 crore at the box office, was re-released in Valentine’s Week this year and did wonders. Earning of Rs 4.50 crore on opening day and total collection crossed Rs 40 crore. The incomplete love story, emotional scenes and tragic love story attracted the audience to the theatre.

Crazy youthfulness

At the beginning of the new year, on January 3, Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone’s ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ returned to the theatres. This rom-com movie of friendship, love, travel and dreams was liked very much by the audience. It earned more than 20 crores in its re-release. The special thing is that along with the story of the film, songs like ‘Badtameez Dil’ and ‘Kabira’ also seemed as fresh to the audience as the story.

The cult comedy ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ once again entered the theater to make the audience laugh. This 1994 film starring Aamir Khan-Salman Khan was a flop for the first time. When it was re-released in 4K version, it got a lot of love from the audience.
