BCCI Junior Cricket Committee of India has announced India’s Under-19 team for the tour of South Africa. Under-19 Team India will play a three-match ODI series in South Africa. 14 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been made the captain of the Indian team for this series. The Junior Cricket Committee has selected the team for the South Africa tour as well as the 2026 Under-19 World Cup. The ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup is scheduled to be held in Zimbabwe and Namibia from January 15 to February 6, 2026.
Let us tell you that Ayush Mhatre 2026 Will be the captain of India in the Under-19 World Cup. However, he is injured and will take time to recover completely. For this reason, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been given the captaincy for the three-match ODI series on the South Africa tour before the World Cup. Vaibhav has been made captain for the first time.
Ayush Mhatre and Vihaan Malhotra have suffered wrist injuries and will not be able to play on the South Africa tour. Both players will go to the BCCI Center of Excellence for further treatment of their injuries and will join the squad for the ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup.
The Indian team will play a three-match ODI series in South Africa under the captaincy of Vaibhav Suryavanshi. The first ODI of the series will be played on January 3, the second ODI on January 5 and the third ODI on January 7. All matches will be played at Willowmoor Park.
