When Bollywood couple Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh separated, Sara Ali Khan was only 9 years old. After this, Sara grew up with her mother, but despite this she always remained very close to her father Saif. In a recent interview, Sara told that she spent her childhood with her mother and she did not live in a traditional family where both the parents were together. Sara was not alone in this conversation, but her grandmother Sharmila Tagore was also present with her and Soha Ali Khan asked questions to both of them.
Sharmila Tagore talks about Saif’s parenting
In this conversation, Sharmila Tagore talked about the upbringing of her son Saif. He said that he has learned a lot by watching his children become parents.
Sharmila told that in her time, she used to depend more on the elders of the house for the upbringing of children, whereas today’s generation takes advice from books and friends. Talking about Saif’s parenting, he said that when Sara was young, Saif struck a good balance between work and responsibility and played the role of a responsible father.
Sharmila Tagore praised Saif Ali Khan and said that he has been a great father. He told that he has seen Saif very closely with Sara. According to Sharmila, many times when Saif had to go to a film premiere late at night, Sara also went with him, but it had no bad effect on him. Sara used to come back and complete her homework also. After this, Sharmila recalled an incident related to Ibrahim Ali Khan’s childhood, which changed her thinking regarding parenting.
Remembered an incident related to childhood
While sharing the story of a Christmas celebration in Pataudi, Sharmila Tagore said that she wanted to decorate the Christmas tree in a perfect manner, while younger Ibrahim was happily placing the decorations wherever he felt like. Then Saif said lovingly that children should also be allowed to participate in this. From that moment, Sharmila learned that it is not necessary for everything to be perfect, children should be allowed to progress at their own pace.
He said that Saif has always been a very understanding and good father in this matter. Sharmila Tagore also told that Saif still has a lot of fun with his younger sons Taimur and Jeh. He said that even when the knife accident happened, Saif remained very truthful and comfortable with the children.

Sara Ali Khan told in the conversation that she has learned a lot from both her parents. She laughingly said that whenever she has a bad day, she does not want to take advice from anyone, because one says that you are like your father and the other says that you are like your mother. Sara said that this has to happen because of DNA.
Sara further said that she got the habit of liking different things from her father, whereas she got the lesson of accepting herself without hesitation from her mother Amrita Singh. He said that his mother taught him how to be truthful and outspoken in every situation, especially in a world where it is not easy to do so.
