Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday (December 28) directed police officers to use artificial intelligence (AI) technology to destroy conversion gangs being funded from abroad. On the concluding day of the second day of ‘Police Manthan’ Senior Police Officers Conference-2025 on Sunday, the Chief Minister directed the senior police officers to keep a strict vigil, especially on social media and cyber crime.
According to an official statement, Yogi also directed to thoroughly analyze the new dimensions of terrorist activities and strengthen surveillance on the borders with Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal. Describing conversion as a serious challenge, the Chief Minister said, “Incidents like Balrampur indicate that such efforts are being made in an organized manner.”

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed to further strengthen the effective use of artificial intelligence, financial transactions, technical analysis and modern resources to prevent the ‘International Funded Conversion Gang’. CM Yogi asked to adopt a policy of ‘zero tolerance’ against those who affect law and order, racial and religious harmony on social media. He asked to take strict action against organized gangs running cow smuggling and religious conversions.

Expressing deep concern over challenges like misuse of social media, disinformation, ‘deepfake’, ‘darkweb’, cyber crime and terrorist networks, CM Yogi Adityanath directed the police and intelligence agencies to take immediate cognizance of any objectionable content affecting law and order, ethnic and religious harmony on social media and ensure prompt and strict action. According to the statement, the Chief Minister made it clear that no leniency should be shown towards the elements who divide the society in the name of caste or religion, put pressure on the police or spread anarchy.
He said that some anti-social elements are trying to spread anarchy by forming new organizations by misusing the names of great men. Police were instructed to thoroughly investigate the background of such organizations and destroy their networks and ensure strict action within the ambit of law.
