‘Ukraine fired drones at Putin’s house’, Russia made a big claim after the Trump-Zelensky meeting; Kiev gave this answer

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov alleged on Monday that Ukraine carried out an overnight drone attack on the residence of President Vladimir Putin, located between Moscow and St. Petersburg. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that on the night of December 28, Ukraine targeted the official residence of the Russian President with 91 long-range drones, but the air defense system shot down all the drones.

Lavrov said that there was no damage or casualties in this incident. He did not say whether Putin was at his home at the time of the attack or not. He said that Russia has already decided the time and facilities for the retaliatory attack, but did not give any specific details.

Russia will respond to Ukraine’s attacks: Sergei Lavrov

Lavrov termed it as sponsored terrorism and threatened that Russia would respond to it. He said that this attack happened in the middle of peace talks, hence Russia will now change its stance in the talks, but will not leave the talks. On the other hand, Zelensky termed these allegations as completely false. He said that Russia is making an excuse to attack. Zelensky has appealed to Trump to give a strong response to these threats from Russia. He said that Russia is trying to create an environment for attacks on government buildings in Kiev.

Zelensky described Russia’s statement as fabricated

Volodymyr Zelensky posted on X and said, ‘Russia is once again making dangerous statements. He is trying to weaken the ongoing peace efforts by the President. We will continue to work together to bring peace closer. The news of targeting the official residence of the Russian President is completely fabricated. The purpose of Moscow asking to do this is to attack more in Ukraine and especially the capital Kiev. Russia has already targeted Kiev, including the Cabinet building.

Now Kiev may be attacked: Zelensky

Zelensky said, ‘Ukraine does not take steps to weaken diplomacy. On the contrary, Russia always takes such steps. This is one of the many differences between us. Now the world should not remain silent. We cannot allow Russia to undermine efforts to achieve lasting peace. Referring to Lavrov’s statement giving a befitting reply to Kiev, Zelensky said, ‘Now everyone needs to be alert. The capital (Kiev) can be attacked because he (Putin) has said that he will choose the right target.
