Gray Hair Due To Vitamin Deficiency: Nowadays, graying of hair at an early age has become a rapidly increasing problem among young Indians. Many people start seeing gray hair in their 20s. Although graying of hair is a normal process of aging, but its premature growth is a matter of concern. Many factors related to environment, lifestyle and nutrition are believed to be responsible for this, which quickly destroys the pigments that maintain the natural color of the hair.

Graying of hair after middle age

Till a few years ago, graying of hair was usually seen after middle age, but now people are facing this problem in their 20s and 30s. Not only are there genetic reasons behind this, but today’s lifestyle and external influences are also accelerating this process. It is very important to know these reasons to understand and control premature graying of hair.

Pollution is the biggest reason

Talking about the environment, increasing pollution in urban areas has become the biggest enemy for hair. Toxic elements and oxidative stress present in the air damage the hair roots and reduce the production of melanin. Melanin is the element that gives hair its natural color. Along with this, increasing stress in today’s fast-paced life also causes hormonal imbalance, due to which hair becomes weak and starts turning gray quickly.

Hair also turns white due to lack of these things

According to experts, food also plays a big role in this. Today’s modern diet contains more processed foods and less essential nutrients. Due to this, hair does not get proper nutrition and lack of essential vitamins and minerals destroys melanin rapidly, due to which white hair starts appearing at an early age. Apart from this, hair products filled with chemicals also increase this problem. Many shampoos, hair dyes and styling products contain harsh chemicals like sulphates and parabens, which remove the natural oil of the hair and damage pigmentation. Excessive use of heat styling tools also makes hair weak. In such a situation, this process can be slowed down by adopting sulphate-free and paraben-free, natural and science-based hair care products.

Lack of nutrients is also a major but often ignored reason for premature graying of hair. Copper plays an important role in producing melanin and due to its deficiency, hair color gradually starts fading. Similarly, deficiency of Vitamin B-complex, especially B12 and B5, weakens the hair roots. Iron, zinc and folic acid are also important for hair health. A diet rich in green vegetables, nuts, seeds, dairy products and protein can help overcome these deficiencies.
