Dr. Shyam Bihari Lal, BJP MLA from Faridpur assembly seat in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh, died of a heart attack on Friday (January 2, 2026). The BJP MLA was taken to a private hospital when his health deteriorated at Circuit House, where doctors declared Shyam Bihari dead. Shyam Bihari was MLA from Faridpur assembly seat twice. He had celebrated his birthday with his workers a day earlier.
The news of the demise of BJP MLA from Faridpur Dr. Shyam Bihari Lal caused a wave of mourning in the political, educational and social world. According to the information, Dr. Shyam Bihari Lal was present at the Circuit House in Bareilly on Friday afternoon. During this time, his health suddenly deteriorated and he complained of severe chest pain. There was chaos among the officers and colleagues present at the spot. He was immediately taken to the city’s Medicity private hospital, where doctors declared him dead during treatment.
I fell ill during the meeting
It is being told that at that time a meeting of Livestock Minister Dharampal Singh regarding SIR was going on in the Circuit House. It was during this meeting that Dr. Shyam Bihari Lal suffered unbearable chest pain. Seeing his condition becoming serious, he was immediately taken to the hospital, but he could not be saved.

Dr. Shyam Bihari Lal was elected MLA from Faridpur assembly seat twice. He was considered a leader with a simple, gentle and educationist image. His demise has caused irreparable loss not only to Faridpur area but to the entire Bareilly district. As soon as information about this incident was received, BJP leaders, administrative officials and well-wishers gathered at the hospital and circuit house. Many senior leaders of the party and the district expressed deep grief over his demise and called it a big loss for the public service and education world.
