Search intensifies for three prisoners who escaped from Hazaribagh Central Jail, police raids in Jharkhand-Bihar

Police has intensified the search operation to nab three convicts who escaped from Hazaribagh Central Jail in Jharkhand. Raids are being conducted continuously in many areas of Jharkhand as well as Bihar. According to officials, the three prisoners had escaped from the jail in the early hours of December 31 and since then the police is searching for them.

All three prisoners are residents of Wasseypur.

Police officials said that the three absconding convicts are residents of Wasseypur area of ​​Dhanbad. Initial investigation has revealed that they planned to escape from jail by taking advantage of darkness and dense fog.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate this entire matter. Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Headquarters) Amit Kumar Anand, who is leading the SIT, said that apart from many districts of Bihar, continuous raids are being conducted in Dhanbad, Ranchi and other parts of Jharkhand. Police suspect that the absconding prisoners are hiding with the help of their old network.

Big mistake in jail security

The investigation has also revealed that there was serious negligence in the security arrangements of the jail. Questions have been raised on the role of many jail guards in the preliminary investigation by IG (Prison) Sudarshan Mandal. It is suspected that either the guards were negligent in their duty or they helped the prisoners escape through the bathroom window.

Two chief wardens suspended

After the incident, the jail administration has taken strict action and suspended two chief wardens Umesh Singh and Harendra Mahato. The administration says that after the completion of the investigation, more strict action will be taken against the culprits.

Criminal history of the main accused

According to the police, the main accused Deva Bhuiyan had already escaped from Dhanbad jail in 2021 and had remained underground for about three and a half years. More than a dozen criminal cases are registered against him in different police stations of Dhanbad. Police hope that soon all three culprits will be arrested.
