Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam, accused of conspiracy in the 2020 Delhi riots, have suffered a major setback. The Supreme Court on Monday (January 5) rejected the bail plea of both of them. Bharatiya Janata Party has reacted regarding this matter. BJP spokesperson RP Singh said that those talking about cutting the chicken neck of India should now focus on saving their own necks.
RP Singh has shared a post on social media platform X. He wrote, ‘The Supreme Court rejected the bail plea of Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam. people who are from india ,chicken neck, They were talking about cutting it, now their neck is stuck in the ambit of the law. Sharjeel Imam is accused of talking about cutting the chicken neck of India. It was claimed about Sharjeel that in his speech he had talked about blocking the Siliguri Corridor.

Supreme Court Omar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam taking Said that a prima facie case is made out against him under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Justice Arvind Kumar and Justice N.V. Anjaria bench granted bail to other accused in this case Gulfisha Fatima, Meeran Haider, Shifa Ur Rehman, Mohammad Salim Khan and Shadab Ahmed.

Allegation of conspiracy for riots in Delhi also
Umar, Sharjeel and other accused are accused of conspiring in the riots that took place in North-East Delhi in February 2020. A case was registered against him under various provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Indian Justice Code (IPC). ,PTI, According to the report, 53 people were killed and more than 700 people were injured in the riots in Delhi. Violence had erupted in the area during widespread protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC).
